Weekly Update for 31 August 2009

Oh boy, it's been a while since we posted some progress here in the weekly update. We have been completely heads down on the preliminary development of the new Python based Akorn. We've made some good progress and hashed out the overall architecture and method of operation. Actually, the PHP based Akorn is still a great blueprint for a robust architecture but now we are altering it a bit to take advantage of the Python tools we have access to finally.

Weekly Update for 24 July 2009

Total focus this week was on wrapping up many of the open client interface items. Part of the team was on consulting projects so the client development will stretch into next week.

We plan to begin some of the design work around the server side Python migration next week. Python is such a powerful language with full OO capabilities in contrast to PHP. We want to make sure we are not simply writing a PHP application in Python. The new Akorn server side components should be much more modular than before.

Weekly Update for 17 July 2009

The week was spent at PyCamp in Toronto. We had a great time in Toronto and basically bootstrapped our Python development effort. PyCamp was at the University of Toronto and we had a lot of people from academia in the class. Most were from the Physics department so they had the same interest in SciPy and NumPy that we do but for more academic reasons.

Weekly Update for 10 July 2009

The week was pretty action packed on the development front. We have made some great progress in our new serialized Qooxdoo interface efforts. We knocked-off some of the major items on our v3.0 Punchlist and are continuing to forge our way towards a feature complete version soon.
