It marries the best of cube technology with the flexibility of Excel (MDX + XLS = MDXLS) to give you a powerful and effective tool for reporting. MDXLS supports ad-hoc as well as formatted reporting from Pentaho Mondrian cubes, Hyperion Essbase cubes, and Business Objects EPM/EPO cubes. The benefit of this reporting tool is that you use Excel as you normally would but use special formulas to retrieve data.
